This Class D amplifier module is based on the IRS2092S amplifier controller and Hexfet Fairchild and IRF transistors. It is designed for any enthusiast looking for power and high fidelity to deliver a robust and melodic sound with a high level of bass resolution. This amplifier has some refinements, especially in its output filter, which is a determining part in the sound result. The output chokes are from Koo-Mu Magnetics and Sagami of audiophile quality.
It requires a cooling fan unlike the lower power IRS2092 modules.
To operate, this module in its 400W version requires a power supply between +/- 60V and +/- 66V.
Connex Electronics and Audiophonics recommend the SMPS 800 RE +/- 60v power supply, designed for this module. See the connection diagram at the bottom of the page or the PDF.
If a Connex power supply recommended by the manufacturer is not used to power the module, then the module will require, in addition to the +/-VCC power supply, additional +AUX, -AUX and Vbias power supplies to be distributed on the AuxSupply connector.
