The Definitive Squeezebox Touch Replacement?
Both my SBT and my DAC, a Geek Pulse, recently died. I tried a Volumio Primo, but the HDMI touch screen I added was much too slow, the functionality of Volumio software not up to the task of dealing with my large music library, and the Squeezelite plug-in problematic. I came to Audiophimics for a new DAC (the impressive Guatard A18) and found this by happenstance. Lucky day. The RaspTouch is fantastic. A better screen that is very responsive. A simple but well-built case. Setting it up with PiCorePlayer was far easier than the Volumio Primo, especially with the help of David, who was incredibly patient and helpful. Combined with the Gustard it sounds truly fantastic. I recommend both the hardware and Audiophonics without reservation.
