Velodyne's Impact X range offers a series of high-performance active subwoofers capable of delivering deep, punchy, immersive bass. With their sober design, they'll blend effortlessly into any interior, HiFi or home-cinema setup. The Impact X Serie 10 model presented here is equipped with a 25.4cm (10") diameter high excursion driver and powerful Class D amplification, capable of developing 250W RMS. An anti-clipping circuit limits amplifier distortion. A remote control gives you remote control of the subwoofer and access to 4 predefined, adjustable DSP profiles.
The 25.4cm (10") driver in this Velodyne Impact X Serie 10 subwoofer is capable of reproducing deep, well-defined bass with incredible ease, whether in a HiFi or home theater installation. Its coated paper diaphragm, both rigid and light, offers perfect control and is combined with a wide suspension capable of considerable travel. This assembly is set in motion by a powerful motor consisting of a large 52mm 4-layer coil and a double ferrite magnet. Thermal regulation is ensured by a frame equipped with two vents. All in all, the subwoofer delivers excellent responsiveness and performance.
The driver of the Velodyne Impact X Serie 10 is powered by a powerful Class D amplifier, selected for its high efficiency and wide dynamic range. It is capable of developing a power of 250W RMS and 500W peak. This amplifier circuit is also combined with an anti-clipping system to limit distortion and deliver precise, natural bass.
The rear panel of the Velodyne Impact X Serie 10 subwoofer features volume control, variable crossover frequency from 50Hz to 180Hz, phase adjustment at 0° or 180°, and automatic power-on. The front of the subwoofer features a small display showing the volume level. All controls are remotely accessible via the supplied remote control, along with 4 DSP profiles.
The rear panel of the Velodyne Impact X Serie 10 also houses its connectivity. There's a stereo RCA LFE input and a high-level input. The subwoofer can therefore be connected to a pre-out or to the speaker terminals of a HiFi or home theater amplifier. An LFE RCA output also enables several subwoofers to be daisy-chained.
