We are proud to present the HPA-S400NC, a stereo amplifier based on a duo of amplification modules NC400 with their dedicated power supply SMPS600N400. This block constitutes an amplification solution with a formidable reserve of power (up to 400W / channel) while fully respecting the amplified signal. It is ideally suited for large listenning rooms and for studio applications requiring considerable headroom without compromising on precision at intermediate volume.

The modules are integrated in a sober and robust 100% aluminum housing with heat sinks. The latter has a simple design and excellent ability to block interference while effectively dissipating heat.

Two NCORE NC400 Amplification modules

Each channel is amplified by its own Hypex NC400 amplification module. This class D module provides large power while meeting high fidelity standard (power up to 400W & THD 1% with a load 4Ω)

The circuit is designed so that the signal flows only in a path of discrete component. This helps prevent the uptake of noise from the protection & control system from the onboard microprocessor.

With its current capacity of 22A and its low output impedance (Typ: 0.6 / Max 2.5 ohm), this amplification module is ideal for projects requiring high power without altering or compromising the audio precision.

Two SMPS Hypex SMPS600N400

Each amplification module has its own power supply circuit with two Hypex switched-mode power supply SMPS600N400 modules. This model has been specially designed to get the best performance of NC400 modules. These switching power supplies offer the advantage of reduced weight (300g) and a very low emission of EMI disturbances. A wide buffer stage composed of electrolytic capacitors ensures excellent responsiveness, ideal for developing the whole amplifier's dynamic.

The circuit is equipped with an advanced protection against overcharging. The latter can automatically lower the output voltage in case of overload. This will delay the arrival of hiccups - or even cancel them altogether if the overload is short-lasting.

A 3.150A fuse delay is mounted on the power connector.

Connectors

Each amplification channel in HPA-S400NC has an input on an RCA connector and an input on 3-pole XLR connector.

A bipolar selector is used to switch quickly from one input to another independently for each amplification module, this is a real source selector since each connector has its own mass, the amplifier allows two preamplifiers to be connected at the same time as well as changing from one configuration to another immediately and without "thumps" or parasitic noises.

The rear panel uses RCA connectors ELECAUDIO ER-106 gold-plated 24K and Neutrik NC3FAH2 connectors.

As a stereo output, the amplifier has two 24k gold-plated ELECAUDIO BP-209 speaker terminals. They can support conductors up to ⌀4.4mm and can operate with bare wires, banana plugs and spades.
Two Trigger connectors are also available, allowing to automate the ignition of the device upon reception of a signal from another device, or to automatically turn on another device upon ignition.
