Subwoofer Amplifier Module with DSP 1200W
This amplifier module for Dayton Audio SPA1200DSP subwoofer is capable of delivering no less than 1200W. A significant energy reserve allowing subwoofer enthusiasts to easily use them for deep bass reproduction. This module integrated on a plate can be integrated directly on the subwoofer body for an active subwoofer. The circuit incorporates a powerful DSP (Digital Signal Processor) that allows you to make settings and adjustments via a graphical interface, to adapt the sound to your system and environment. In addition, the SPA1200DSP comes with a control panel that includes a display, status LEDs and a button, to simply change certain parameters such as volume or choice of a predefined filter. These settings can also be made via a dedicated iOS mobile application.
The amplification module integrates a complete and easily configurable DSP via your computer thanks to an intuitive graphical interface. The software allows you to make in-depth modifications to adapt the playback of your subwoofer to your audio system and listening room.

The integrated 20Hz microphone allows you to estimate the frequency response characteristics of your listening room and thus apply PEQ filters to compensate for anomalies. To perform this measurement, simply connect the 3.5mm jack connector to the Mic In port of the amplifier.
To measure the acoustics of your room, it will be necessary to move the microphone around your room, especially at the listening point. It is preferable to attach the microphone, for example, with a camera tripod for best results. Only three test points are required, the microphone captures 12 measurements for each location and performs averages.
Starting iEQ : Selecting the GUI's button starts custom calibration test tones. After moving your mic to three different listening locations and estimations are finished, the system screen will display the final measured and calculated post-equalized frequency response results.
The SPA1200DSP comes with a control panel that allows you to simply adjust the active amplifier settings and modify them. The module includes a display, a rotary knob and status LEDs. It can also be integrated directly into the body of your subwoofer alongside the amplifier module.
The Volume setting is selected with a simple press of the button. It is adjustable in 1dB steps. A double press returns you to the main menu. Turning the knob allows you to navigate through the various configuration menus. The parameters shown in the image below correspond to the main functions of the amplifier.
Dayton Audio also offers control of the amplifier via an iOS application. It works like a remote control and therefore allows you to change the SPA1200DSP settings from your sofa.
