Connectivity and other features

On the connector side, the FA501 offers a balanced analog input and output in XLR 3-pin format and an unbalanced RCA Stereo input. The XLR output is directly connected to the XLR input and therefore allows you to create a chain with several FusionAMPs, the maximum number of modules being limited by the capacities of your source. the amplifier also has a high level input so that you can connect your previous amplifier to it if it does not have a pre-out output. Finally, an I/O connector in RCA format allows the module to be connected to the remote control of another FusionAMP amplifier module (remote control and receiver module sold separately).

This FusionAMP FA501 integrates a DSP. A USB connector allows you to configure your amplifier via the software specially developed by Hypex. The latter offers many possibilities to adapt your amplifier to your needs, such as creating custom filters.

The front of the amplifier displays a series of 4 status LEDs. The first one is used to warn of a malfunction or when a limit is reached, in order not to damage the equipment.

• Fixed green : Amplifier ON
• Blinking green : IR signal received
• Green / Red blinking : Clipping signal
• Slow green blinking : Mute mode 
• Fixed red : DC / Fatal error, amplifier Power OFF
• Red blinking 1 time per second : High temperature, limited output
• Red blinking 2 time per seconde : Over temperature, output muted

The next 3 LEDs, green, simply display the selected custom profile and therefore in use. To change the profile, simply press the Select button. If the amplifier is in mute mode, then the LED of the selected profile will flash slowly.

Finally, a potentiometer placed under the LEDs will allow you to control the gain level of your amplifier very easily. By default, this gain can be adjusted by 12dB in each direction.
