PURIFI EVAL1 Stereo 1ET400A Amplifier Evaluation Kit 2x425W 4 Ohm

Purifi's EVAL1 stereo evaluation kit is designed to enable simple connection of the power supply and input/output signal to the 1ET400A Stereo amplifier module. The kit has been developed for evaluation purposes, but is also suitable for DIY applications.

Purifi Eval 1 in detail

This evaluation module features two 1ET400A amplifier modules, connected to an FE02 front-end module. The 1ET400A amplifier modules offer a level of sound quality that sets the standard for amplifier modules of all classes. The 1ET400A amplifier features an output power of 450W at 2 Ohm and 227W at 8 Ohm. It features a high-gain loop in excess of 75dB over the entire frequency range, with stable, coherent rendering across the entire spectrum. Finally, Total harmonic distortion (THD) is kept extremely low at all power levels, guaranteeing faithful sound reproduction. This amplification module can be found, for example, in certain Audiophonics Workshop amplifier models.

The FE02 front-end module receives the input signal via its 3-pin stereo XLR connectors before delivering it, once amplified, via its two pairs of 4mm banana plug speaker outputs. However, this FE02 module doesn't just act as a link between the amplifier modules and the inputs and outputs, it is also packed with two OPA1612 operational amplifiers, providing 27dB pre-gain stage or, at the very least, buffering of the input signal. These are powered by a pair of low-noise discrete voltage regulators.

To operate, the EVAL1 requires a power supply range from 25V to 70V DC. The EVAL1 evaluation kit is also compatible with the HYPEX SMPS1200A400 switching power supply module, as the supplied cable enables you to connect directly to the module.
