Purifi's EVAL4 is an evaluation kit comprising a 1ET9040BA mono amplifier module and a FE04 mono input card. It is perfectly suited to integration in DIY audio projects. It is designed to facilitate testing of the 1ET99040BA, and provides all the connectivity and controls required to operate the amplifier module:

This evaluation module includes a 1ET9040BA amplifier module. This high-performance Class D amplifier features an available power of 2x750W into 4Ω or 2x375W into 8Ω, as well as a high efficiency of 96%. It also ensures incredibly low harmonic distortion (THD) and noise levels, favoring rich, precise and perfectly transparent sound reproduction, respecting the original audio signal to reproduce your music with flawless, uncolored fidelity. It also guarantees a wide, realistic sound image for perfect immersion. A notable feature of the ET9040BA is its current capacity, making it stable under 2ohm, and bringing its maximum power to 1400W. What's more, the frequency response of these modules is totally independent of load, allowing you to take full advantage of the capabilities of this design, even with speakers that are difficult to drive. For example, you'll find this amplifier module in certain Audiophonics Workshop amplifier models.

The FE04 input module receives the input signal via its 3-pin XLR connector, before delivering it via an interconnect ribbon to the amplifier module. Loudspeaker output is via a JST B04P-VL connector. However, this FE04 module does more than simply link the input to the amplifier module. It is also equipped with a pre-amplifier stage that can be configured for a total gain of 14.4dB in bypass, or 20dB, 23.2dB, 26dB, 27.7dB for other settings. This stage uses a dual OPA1656 OPA.

To operate, the EVAL4 kit requires a power supply between ±30V and ±48V DC. The evaluation kit is also compatible with the HYPEX SMPS1200A180 switching power supply module.
