Refurbished product - Grade S
Brand new product. Kit to assemble and weld.
This Class A/B stereo power amplifier module, sold in kit to assemble and weld, is made of discrete components and can develop a power of 2x 125W under a 4Ω load and 2x75W under an 8Ω load. Specially designed for audiophile applications, it features high-quality components: two JRC5532D low-noise dual AOPs coupled to TL431 voltage regulators, two TI TL071CP dual OPAs, two pairs of Toshiba 2SA1943/2SC5200 power amplifiers and two pairs of A1930/C5171 transistors.
The first two OPA5532s do not have a traditional AOP function; they are there to receive the input signal. The TL0771CP OPAs act as preamplifiers, before the signal passes through the power amplification stage comprising two pairs of Toshiba 2SA1943/2SC5200 transistors. Two output inductors then process the signal to slow down surges and current peaks, to clean the signal of high-frequency noise and to correct the phase shift of the high-frequency crossover capacitors in advance.
The module's power supply accepts voltages from 15-0-15V to 30-0-30V AC.
Audio signal input is via screw terminals. Thanks to these two screw terminals, two configurations are possible. The module accepts an unbalanced RCA signal (AUX) as well as a balanced XLR signal. A switching relay and a button are used to select the source mode.
The output power of this module is affected by the supply voltage. In fact, the higher the supply voltage, the higher the output power. If the module is supplied at 20V AC, output power can reach 2x 68W @ 4Ω and 2x40W @ 8Ω. With a 25V AC supply, output power reaches 2x 110W @ 4Ω and 2x 60W @ 8Ω. And finally if the module is supplied with 30V AC the maximum output power will be 2x 125W @ 4Ω and 2x 75W @ 8Ω.
The recommended quiescent current for this module is 50mA.
Capacitors are not supplied, but two 50V 4700uF or 63V 6800uF capacitors will work perfectly with this module.
This amplifier module features a 2-position gain switch (see diagram 8). The first position corresponds to the follower setting, i.e. x1, and the second position to a gain setting of x2.
A 5-pin PH2.0 connector (see 11 on diagram) is used to connect a volume control potentiometer. For this function to be active, the R and L jumpers on the rear of the PCB must also be opened.
A red two-color LED indicates that the module is switched on. Blue indicates that the module is operating. (The power-up delay is approximately 5 seconds; if the protection circuit detects a fault, the power amplifier circuit will not light up).
If the other yellow LED lights up, this simply indicates that XLR mode is on.
