Planar Magnetic design

Standard headphones use dynamic drivers that vibrate in order to diffuse a sound wave, but without being able to move the entire membrane. Planar Magnetic headphones use conductive layers covering almost the entire membrane to offer a better capacity of movement. This architecture allows a considerable reduction of distortion for a considerably improved sound rendering.

Stealth Magnet

Unlike the sound wave created by a conventional magnet, the special design of the Stealth Magnet technology allows the sound waves to pass through the magnet without generating interference. This reduces the diffraction of the waves that could degrade their integrity. As a result, the HE400SE is able to deliver rich, extremely accurate sound across its entire frequency range.

Comfort & Durability

Thanks to its newly designed ultra-lightweight headband, the HE400SE offers great comfort for hours of use. The speakers are protected by a sturdy and durable chassis.

High conductivity cable

The HE400SE comes with a detachable cable for high conductivity, using copper and silver conductors. A 6.35mm jack adapter is also included.

A very good value for the money
I am confident that HE400SE is the best sounding planar at sub-140€ price category and beats many way more expensive products. In fact I was totally amazed how good they sound and feel out of the box. With a tiny bit of EQ these are superb.

Lack of distortion makes HE400SE a delight to listen to. The cups are big as kettles and the cushions soft making these quite comfortable to wear, albeit they're a bit on the heavy side. Another good thing is that unlike many headphones, these can be adjusted for small head aswell. The supplied cord is soft and flexible but not very long.

All in all HE400SE delivers a lot with a little money.

Great audiophile headphone - with some caveats
These entry level Hifiman headphone sound excellent with acoustic music, jazz, classical provided you use them with a proper amplifier - smartphone or tablet will not cut it.

It sounds a bit "edgy" with an Adioqiuest DragonFly 1.5 but sound great with a Schiit Vali 2++ and Audiphonics RaspiDAC streamer, beating my Massdrop/Sennheiser HD 58x as the best "budget audiophile" headphone.

The cable could be a bit longer and would prefer it was terminated in a straight rather than an angled jack (in particular because it is much better suited for stationary listening).

Très bon casque pour un usage domestique
Acheté en remplacement de mes akg studio k240, le son est plus doux et plus équilibré (basses, medium et aigus).
Fonctionne correctement avec la sortie casque de mon smartphone, mais c'est encore mieux avec un petit ampli casque (pour moi, le earstudio de Radson).

Attention : c'est un casque ouvert, donc plutôt pour un usage domestique, dans le métro ou dans la rue, le bruit ambiant rend l'écoute assez décevante voire désagréable.

Très bon casque Hifi, bien équilibré
Encore en rodage mais déjà un très bon son par rapport à mon précédent casque AKG k240 sont les aigus étaient criards et les basses en retrait.
Le son du hifiman est bien équilibré : les aigus doux, le médium chaleureux et les basses bien présentes sans écraser le reste du spectre sonore.
Après avoir testé différentes marques, ce hifiman me donne pleinement satisfaction.
Seul point de vigilance, la sortie du smartphone n'est pas suffisante, il lui faut un sac ampli casque extérieur pour bien l'alimenter, un earstudio dans mon cas.
Autre point : votre musique est assez audible de l'extérieur vu que c'est un casque ouvert.

Au delà de ces deux points, c'est un super casque, à recommander.
