The Moondrop Para is a high-quality headphone based on planar magnetic technology. It has inherited part of the structure of its predecessor, the Moondrop Venus. The advantage of planar magnetic headphones lies in the fact that the stresses applied to the diaphragm are perfectly uniform, while generating less unwanted residual vibration than in the case of dynamic headphones. The Moondrop Para features a diaphragm no less than Ø100mm in diameter, coupled with FDT ("Full Drive Technology").
Unlike traditional magnetic planar drivers, the Moondrop Para adopts an ultra-wide Ø100mm diaphragm and Full Drive Technology (FDT). In other words, the entire surface of the diaphragm is affected by the magnetic field, giving the Moondrop Para a level of performance close to that of electrostatic driver headphones.
Only the central part of the diaphragm is driven, which can lead to unwanted vibrations, making treble detail less precise and causing timbre distortion.
With FDT technology, the entire circuit is controlled. The result is a uniform movement of the vibrating surface approaching that of electrostatic headphones, with highly detailed highs that are far more rich and well-sounding.
The Para planar magnetic headphones adopt no fewer than 36 N52 neodymium magnets to cover the entire diaphragm surface. Thanks to the FEA optimization system, the magnetic field parallel to the diaphragm is evenly distributed, further reducing residual, non-linear diaphragm vibrations.
Moondrop has chosen to offer headphones that are easy to drive. The Para's impedance is 8 Ohm, yet the brand has made no concessions to the quality of the structure, components or sound reproduction of its headphones. As a result, these headphones have the advantage of being compatible with a large number of Hi-Fi devices, from high-end amplifiers to portable equipment.
The headphones' diaphragm is made from a new flexible composite material with high damping properties, thus reducing unwanted vibration residues and improving the behaviour of the headphones. The two-dimensional structure of Para headphones also incorporates TBT (Tension Balancing Technology) to balance stress on the diaphragm surface.

With the settings applied to the Para by Moondrop, the headphones are able to deliver a very good acoustic performance accompanied by a textured sound rendering. The amplitude of its frequency response gives it an open, natural soundstage, with extended, rich and precise treble.
The Para moondrop offers a low level of non-linear distortion (less than 0.5%) even at pressures exceeding 1Pa. This is why it has a wide dynamic range when driven with sufficient energy.
The Moondrop Para comes with a 3.5mm jack cable to two 3.5mm jack headphone connectors. It will therefore be compatible with a large number of devices on the market.
