The Moondrop Venus is a high-quality planar magnetic headphone with a formidable design that delivers clear, transparent sound reproduction.

A planar magnetic headphone uses a magnetic field generated parallel to the diaphragm via a balanced array of magnets. The signals then generate an amperage force perpendicular to the circuit board on the diaphragm to move it. The advantage of planar magnetic headphones is that the stresses applied to the diaphragm are perfectly uniform while generating less unwanted residual vibration than in dynamic headphones. However, planar magnetic headphones can be powered by the same amplifiers as dynamic headphones.

Optimized N52 magnet array

The Venus uses an array of 18 single-sided high remanence N52 magnets. Thanks to the FEA optimization system, the magnetic field parallel to the diaphragm is evenly distributed, further reducing residual and non-linear diaphragm vibrations.

Patented integrated structure

The Venus loudspeaker structure must withstand high voltage loads due to the large number of N52 magnets used. In order to avoid any deformation, the entire structure of the loudspeaker requires the use of a carefully CNC machined aluminum alloy.

The Moondrop Venus therefore adopts a unique internal cavity with an integrated structure that perfectly fits the large diaphragm that has to be installed in a small volume, while effectively limiting the overall weight of the headphone and ensuring excellent structural rigidity to withstand the 36 neodymium magnets. This special design not only allows for the integration of high quality components in a limited space, but also allows for easier maintenance of the headphones when needed.

Combined equalization and waveguide technology

The Venus uses a proprietary combined waveguide structure, minimizing phase interference from the magnet grid on high frequency transmission, while avoiding the negative impact of magnetic circuit volume and efficiency.

Excellent measurements for maximum performance

The frequency response of the Venus is perfectly consistent with the HRTF (head-related transfer function) and the level of non-linear distortion is less than 0.05%. A distortion that remains extremely low even at high pressure levels.
