SMSL PL100 picture

The SMSL PL100 CD player is the perfect way to enjoy your CD collection. It's essentially based on a CS43131 DAC chip and a PLL (Phase-Locked Loop) circuit for sound reproduction as close as possible to the original source. Various CD formats are supported: CD / CD-R / CD-RW / MP3 CD. Several outputs are also available, including a coaxial output, a Toslink optical output and an analog RCA output. There's an additional 3.5mm jack headphone output capable of delivering up to 2x60mW under 32 Ohm. The user experience is enhanced by the small display on the PL100's front panel, as well as the various control buttons and remote control.

The CS43131 DAC chip, coupled with the PLL circuit, offers high-quality CD decoding for high-quality final sound reproduction. The PLL circuit greatly reduces jitter during playback.

The PL100's SPDIF Coaxial and Toslink optical outputs are capable of outputting the raw signal for direct connection to a DAC, so you can enjoy the best possible sound.

SMSL PL100: Headphone output

Thanks to its CS43131 DAC chip, the SMSL PL100 CD player is also able to deliver up to 60mw under 32 ohms of power on its 3.5mm jack output to drive a wide range of headphones and IEMs.

Excellent!
Great little CD player!
Very nice looks, decent remote control and superb sound quality! I first tried it with the optical out into my Aune X8 DAC with Sparcos Op-Amp. Sounded great.
After that I decided to try the onboard DAC and it sounds almost as good as my external DAC, that costs 4 times the whole CD player!
Overall, I am very pleased with it!

RQP exceptionnel
Je n’en reviens pas encore. Je l’utilise en drive avec la sortie optique vers un WIIM AMP PRO. Le rendu est précis et légèrement chaud, très agréable. La mécanique d’origine Philips semble-t-il est douce et ultra silencieuse quelque soit la qualité du CD.
Je n’ai pas encore testé la sortie analogique car ce n’était pas le but de cet achat pour moi mais quand ce sera fait je posterai à nouveau un avis.
A ce prix franchement, difficile de faire mieux.
