The SMSL PL200 is a high-quality CD turntable/player featuring an AKM AK4499EX DAC coupled with an AK4191EQ digital filter. This CD player is both high-performance and versatile. It is equipped with quality components such as the P.A.S.S (Precision Acces Servo System) servo playback system developed by SMSL, an USB XMOS interface on USB-C connector, OPA1612A, a Qualcomm Bluetooth 5.0 reception chip and many other audiophile components. SMSL has developed its own CD playback system providing audiophile levels of dynamic response and playback stability. In addition, an anti-vibration system and shock absorbers give this CD player a high level of reliability.

DAC AKM AK4499EX + AK4191EQ 

The SMSL PL200 CD player features the AKM AK4499EX (DAC) and AK4191EQ (digital filter) chip combo. This enables it to support high-resolution streams up to PCM 32bit 768kHz, native DSD up to DSD512 and MQA/MQA-CD, with a distortion rate of less than 0.00006% (-123dB).

Bluetooth 5.0 receiver

A Bluetooth 5.0 receiver chip from Qualcomm enables the PL200 to work with high-resolution Bluetooth 5.0 codecs; SBC, ACC, aptX, aptX HD and LDAC (24bit 96kHz).

High-performance headphone amplifier

The PL200 features a 6.35mm jack headphone output with high-performance amplification circuitry and integrated PLFC.

High-end components

A CK-03 clock system with two highly accurate, low-noise clock sources reduces jitter considerably. The power supply stage incorporates low-noise components such as voltage regulators to increase the overall performance level of the PL200 CD player.

Sophisticated aesthetics: between modernity and retro look

The PL200 features piano keyboard keys for a retro look, and a large tempered-glass IPS display with a minimalist, modern interface. On the top of the PL200, an innovative cap covers the CD playback system. This can be removed to make CD playback more ceremonial. To use this function, simply remove the cover and press and hold the play button on the CD player.

Après un week-end de test , je peux dire que ce lecteur n'a pas à rougir face à un ensemble de plus de deux fois son prix ( transport atoll +dac externe ess9038pro)
Le smsl est un petit peu moins précis dans les aigus, mais médium et grave au top.
La musique coule toute seule. A ce prix, une affaire.

Petit mais quels résultats impressionnants
Cela fait quelques mois que je possède le SMSL PL 200, et il s’est progressivement affirmé!
La musique s’exprime d’une façon naturelle, en largeur et profondeur. Les sons, la définition,
la musicalité, sont d’un naturel surprenant, je me suis remis à écouter mes CD et ma musique
pendant plusieurs heures, alors que précédemment à mon achat j’étais resté moins attiré par mes écoutes! Formidable appareil!

Un best-seller
Sans surprise, un excellent produit. La définition aussi bien dans le spectre haut que bas est excellente. La puce AKM du Dac n'est certainement pas étrangère à cet excellent résultat. Très satisfait d'autant que la livraison (vers la Belgique) fut très rapide.

Lecteur de CD au top
Ce lecteur de CD présente un excellent rapport qualité/prix avec une reproduction audiophile audible, généralement présente sur des produits au moins deux fois plus onéreux, le choix du chargement par le haut nous évite les aléas du tiroir forcément plus stable et plus précis, la lentille du lecteur optique est très accessible permettant un dépoussiérage sans risque. Enfin ce lecteur peut être utilisé comme un DAC de qualité ou inversement comme transport. Je suis parfaitement satisfait !!!
