The Suptronics X5500 is a DAC and amplifier module that works as an extension of the Raspberry Pi (sold separately), interfacing between the two simply by using the 40-pin GPIO connector transmitting an I2S audio signal. Its digital to analog conversion stage uses an ESS ES9023 chip capable of precise decoding with low jitter and supporting PCM audio streams up to 24bit 192kHz. Its Class D amplifier section embeds a TI TPA3118D2 chip capable of developing a 2x30W power under 8Ω BTL. For the rest, the X5500 maintains a high level of design quality and performance with notably the use of ultra-low noise voltage regulators, a high efficiency DC converter or a precise ALPS RK163 potentiometer. On the output side, the module provides a screw terminal for connecting speakers as well as a stereo RCA output. An XH2.54mm connector also allows to power supply external modules with 5VDC.
