A GPIO modular DAC with many features

This DAC ES9018K2M module dedicated to Raspberry Pi 3 has many advantages. Featuring a 100MHz OSC clock, it has an optional 100Mhz TCXO clock slot for increased fidelity. In addition, this DAC has an infrared sensor on the PCB to facilitate its integration.

A passiv analog stage output

This DAC also features a high-performance headphone output thanks to the implementation of a TPA6133A2 TI chips (138mW) that supports low impedance headphones (25 Ohm to 120 Ohm). The sound of a DAC is highly dependent on the active components at the output of the DAC. The DAC II has only high quality passive components.

So there is only one output resistor of the DAC, a MELF film resistor of very high precision and low noise. This way, the DAC eliminates the problems associated with the active components and restores a faithful and particularly detailed sound.

ESS SABRE Hardware volume With Volumio Special Edition AOIDE

This DAC offers a control of the internal hardware volume of the ES9018K2m provided that this specific Volumio distribution is used on this link: Volumio AOIDE DAC II. Once Volumio is installed, simply select in Playback Options as shown on the picture image. The advantages of using Volumio's internal Hardware 32/64 bit ESS SABRE DAC and non-Software volume are better dynamics and less distortion at low level.
We do not guarantee that all 16 to 24 bit resolutions are read by other Pi players distributions. We strongly recommend the use of Volumio with this DAC.
