The DAC for Raspberry Pi Audiophonics TDA 1387 X8 is in the line of the vintage converters with typical 16bit analog sound TDA1541 R2R and TDA1543 R2R. This TDA 1387 DAC is the improved suite in Continuous calibration DAC (CC-DAC) version.
This continuous calibration technology has the advantage of being insensitive to component ageing, applied load or temperature variation.
It therefore takes up the subjective advantages of R2R DACs by providing "sonic" stability without the dissonance effects of the more recent sigma delta DACs. The sound is melodic, warm while bringing details and high level dynamics. Composed of 8 DACs in parallel, the conversion distortion rates are very low.
Equipped with a TCXO full format 0.5PPM clock, it will bring a real musical emotion to all Raspberry Pi 2 or Pi3 owners wishing to recover the original sound of their audio files. This DAC can also be used as a 6-pin I2S (XHP format) input. (The Masterclock is generated by the DAC).
A bewitching DAC with 192khz compatible analog sound with high level passive components and gold-plated RCA connectors with PTFE insulation.
Audiophonics recommends the following USB I2S interfaces:
