This module is based on an ESS ES9028Q2M converter, renowned for its excellent performance. It will ensure worry-free, high quality playback of your system, demonstrating high accuracy and clarity. This chip supports files with high sampling rates, up to 32bit 384kHe in PCM but also native DSD128 (using the X10-I2S module sold separately).
The X20-XLR's converter is supported by two excellent double NJR MUSES 8920 PDOs. A brand renowned for its high quality PDOs. These integrate J-FET technology with the aim of offering a sound as close as possible to the original signal. In addition, they reduce crosstalk between the two channels.
These AOPs are mounted on DIP8. They can also be replaced to adapt to different listening styles.
Besides its very good ES9028Q2M converter and its AOP NJR MUSES 8920, the module also embeds other quality components. You will find a TCXO 100MHz clock with ultra low phase noise, WIMA film capacitors, an ultra low noise voltage regulator or "low ESR" electrolytic capacitors from Panasonic. On the connector side, if there is a 4 pins connector for the I2S at the input, the X20-XLR offers totally balanced XLRs for exceptional sound quality. Translated with www.DeepL.com/Translator
The X20-XLR has only one I2S input and one XLR balanced output. By coupling it with the module X10-I2S the DAC gains in versatility by also equipping itself with a coaxial, Optical and I2S output as well as a USB input supported by an XMOS xCore interface. Moreover, this X10-I2S module will also make it possible to make the DAC autonomous to be able to operate it without Raspberry Pi.
