Discrete DAC / Preamp & headphone amp balanced class A - 384kHz, Native DSD64-512
This is the 2019 version equipped with the latest 318B clocks from Accusilicon. The latter offer improved performance over previous TCXO models and allow the DAC to operate with increased accuracy.
Crystek clocks are also used on the USB interface.
The R-27 Audio-GD combines in one unit a discrete balanced DAC, a class A headphone amplifier balanced, and a class A preamplifier helmet balanced. Each of these elements is naturally integrated with the greatest care to the circuit and enjoys a linear regulated power oversized.
Like all Audio-GD latest equipment, advanced camera settings are accessed via a menu & a screen on the front panel.
The device connects to a digital source (computer, network drive, TV ... etc) through a comprehensive input connectors (Coax, Optical, USB, IIS). There is also an balanced analog input (RCA) and balanced (ACCS) for driving directly the preamplifier / headphone amplifier. The R-27 will be able to to have all of its audio decoding capabilities Installation / preamplifier.
The floor support of the analog / digital conversion is based on 4 DA-7 Core V2 shielded modules. These directly interpret each bit of the digital signal to reconstruct the analog signal.
Each module performs its task by operating a network consisting only of resistors having a given value (R) and its double (2R) without passing through an over-sampling phase. This particular construction makes it possible to decode the digital signals with a quasi-insensitivity to jitter while avoiding any possibility of recovering clock noise in the output signal.
Each channel is decoded separately by its own set of modules to achieve optimal crosstalk. To go even further, each channel of the stereo operates its own linear power supply to minimize as much as possible pests that may affect the soundstage and stereo.
modules sets are supported by an FPGA. This takes care of the synchronization of audio and release jitter. It allows in fact to provide a more accurate and transparent sound reproduction, while drastically reducing noise. 3 Accusilicon clocks are also included, even for once to reduce to a minimum the jitter through optimal signal synchronistation.
In addition to supporting the DSD / DXD and sample rates up to 32bit / 384kHz, the R-27 has ACSS connectivity.
It operates as a discrete preamp stage that completely dispenses with operational amplifiers. With this construction, the signal is processed with high purity without unnecessary coloring of the sound, making it an element of choice for High Fidelity use.
The front of the unit provides two headphone outputs: unbalanced and balanced. The amplification stage operates in pure class A on each output with a large power reserve to driver very demanding helmets: the balanced output is able to develop 1250mW with 300 Ohms headphones (against 350mW for the unbalanced output) .
The headphone amplifier / preamplifier has two gain settings. The High mode corresponds to a gain of + 22dB while the Low Mode represents a gain of + 12dB. In addition to the front volume, this option allows you to find the best balance for extended listening comfort.
