Burson Audio's Conductor GT4 is a DAC and headphone amplifier. The direct successor to the Conductor GT3, this new model benefits from the technological base that made its predecessor such a success, while offering a new architecture using 6 Max Current power supply modules and 7 SP noise filtering modules. This architecture enables the integration of one DAC chip per channel, making the Conductor GT4 a balanced DAC capable of converting signals up to PCM 32bit 768kHz and DSD512. The standard version is equipped with the brand's SP1 power supply modules and Vivid V6 OPA.
Thanks to the modularity offered by the Max Current modules used, a significant amount of space has been saved in the design of the Conductor GT4, making it possible to integrate the Soloist Voyager's independently powered output stage. As a result, the Conductor GT4 boasts a pure Class A output power of 10 W, delivering a sound as powerful as it is accurate.
The digital/analogue conversion stage of the Conductor GT4 is entrusted to two ESS9038 DAC chips. Each of these chips is assigned to a channel and powered independently, eliminating crosstalk and achieving finer detail. Thanks to these high-end DAC chips, the Conductor GT4 is capable of converting signals up to PCM 32bit 768kHz and DSD512.
When designing the Conductor GT4, the emphasis was on its connectivity. In order to receive a good quality signal in the most versatile way possible, a number of choices have been made. Firstly, the inclusion of a USB XMOS interface means that PCM 768kHz and DSD 512 are supported via USB-C. You can also enjoy a Bluetooth 5.0 connection that supports aptX Low Latency and aptX HD codecs thanks to the implementation of a Qualcomm CSR8675 chip.
To power its various modules as quietly as possible, the Conductor GT4 relies on its SP1 modules. These modules, developed in-house by the brand, have an incomparable noise filtering capacity, with a noise level of just 40uV. Using these modules ensures crystal-clear sound without any distortion or sound artefacts linked to the power supply.
In addition to the classic 3.5mm jack, 6.35mm and 4-pin XLR headphone outputs, the Conductor GT4 also features a subwoofer output, allowing you to enjoy your tracks through headphones while benefiting from the experience that a subwoofer can offer.
