BURSON AUDIO COMPOSER 3X PERFORMANCE
DAC ES9038Q2M 32bit / 768kHz DSD512 / Digital Pre-Amp
This balanced DAC / Digital Pre-Amplifier from Burson is a high-end product. Burson to develop this product has followed the logic of "less is more" since it does not use oversampling, no bass amplification or commercial AOP. In short, Burson's COMPOSER 3X PERFORMANCE sticks to the basics by following an old-school design approach and incorporating Burson's own AOPs for impeccable sound quality. This model is a perfect complement for an amplifier or active speakers.
Interface
A volume knob on the front allows you to adjust the output volume on the RCA and XLR outputs.
An OLED screen displays in real time, the volume level, the active input and output as well as the type of stream being played. It also allows you to check that your audio files are playing under the best conditions.
The inputs and outputs are located on the rear panel of the Conductor in order to hide most of the permanent connections for a visual rendering of the most beautiful effect.
Advanced digital stage
The COMPOSER 3X PERFORMANCE embeds a 32bit SABER / ESS9038Q2M DAC as well as an XMOS USB interface. These components are among the most efficient and popular on the audio market today. Its custom USB driver from Thesycon Germany ensures bit-perfect low-latency audio playback. The result is rock-solid processing power, accurately reproducing DSD512 and 32-bit/786kHz PCM audio.
It also has a Qualcomm/CSR8675 receiver plus Bluetooth 5.0. 24-bit/96kHz playback with aptX HD audio codec. The latter offers an easy and accessible entry point to broadcast your audio streams while approaching CD quality standards as closely as possible.
Power supply
The COMPOSER 3X PERFORMANCE leverages the same Maximum Current Power Supply (MCPS) that popularized the Conductor range at Burson Audio.
A technology developed, owned and used exclusively by Burson Audio, MCPS boosts voltage frequency from 50Hz to 170kHz, pushing noise far beyond the thresholds of human hearing. It completely overcomes the disadvantages of linear power supplies and conventional switching power supplies, resulting in unsuspected dynamics and micro-details.
A refined pre-amp
The burton COMPOSER 3X PERFORMANCE is also a high performance pre-amplifier with its low output impedance and two gain levels. It comes with discrete gold-plated Burson V6 Vivid DIP8 OPAs allowing you to easily change them out and tailor your listening experience to your preferences. This makes it a perfect complement for amplifiers or active loudspeakers.
Housing
Faithful to the desire to offer devices with generous performance and different class A circuits, Burson is nonetheless attached to the aesthetics of its cases. In order to meet both the dissipation constraints of a circuit with high audio capacities and without resorting to an oversized case with endless heatsinks, Burson has developed its own Cool Case. Made from high-density aluminum and space gray galvanized, the Cool Case is a unified heat sink that keeps Class A circuits at the ideal temperature.
This design is also resource-saving since it reduces the need for basic materials by up to 30%.
