Compact, versatile and particularly affordable, the Fosi Audio DAC-Q4 brilliantly combines the functions of DAC and headphone amplifier. Ideal for a desktop installation, it will fit equally well into a more conventional audio system. Its digital/analog conversion stage is based on a Texas Instruments PCM5100 DAC chip, ensuring quality decoding for precise sound reproduction. It is accompanied by an MS8416 SPDIF receiver supporting PCM streams up to 24bit 192kHz, and a CT7601 USB interface accepting PCM signals up to 24bit 96kHz. The headphone amplification stage of the Fosi Audio DAC-Q4 is entrusted to a MAX97220 chip capable of developing a power of 100mW at 32Ω. On the connectivity side, inputs include USB-B, optical and coaxial. Output is either RCA, or on the amplified headphone output with Jack 3.5mm connector. Finally, in addition to volume control, the front panel features a tone control for adjusting bass and treble levels.
