AK4499EX dual DAC

With its two AKM AK4499EX DAC chips and AK4191 digital modulator, the Gustard A26 provides high performance decoding for rich, detailed and accurate sound reproduction. In addition, each channel has its own power supply, which considerably reduces interference that could alter the audio signal.

Streamer / Renderer

The Gustard A26 integrates a network layer with its RJ45 Ethernet input and support for UPnP, Roon Bridge and HQPlayer NAA protocols. It can therefore be used as a streamer and allows you to access your files stored on your network, on a computer or a NAS for example.

K2 Clock

In order to provide an accurate clock signal, the A26 features the ultra-low noise K2 module. This ensures that the DAC is able to achieve a very low jitter level for the most transparent sound possible.

The A26 also provides a 10M BNC input allowing it to be used in conjunction with an external clock generator.

XMOS XU216

The USB input of the Gustard A26 is associated with an XMOS XU216 interface. This allows it to support high resolution audio streams, up to PCM 32bit 768kHz and DSD512. It also supports MQA files.

I/V conversion

The Gustard A26 features an I/V conversion stage using multiple OPAs and transistors. This provides a precise and powerful output.

LPF

An LPF using discrete components was specifically designed to accompany the AK4499EX DACs. This was then carefully optimized to provide the best possible sonic performance.

A customized power supply stage

The A26's power supply stage includes two toroidal transformers to provide independent power supply to the analog and digital circuits. It also uses voltage regulators and filter capacitors, ensuring a clean and stable signal.

MQA

The Gustard A26 can decode and play MQA (Master Quality Authenticated) files. These ensure a sound quality as close as possible to the original studio recording.

Excellent DAC - Horrible Streamer !
The DAC is excellent however the streaming module is an afterthought that is very buggy ! There are regular drop outs when streaming from Roon and the device will register itself with a new MAC-adress on your network at EVERY startup. This has been confirmed by multiple users on head-fi.org forums. Also note that this is not a Roon Ready device, it's a Roon bridge which is NOT officially supported by Roon. In fact, Gustard does not have a license to claim Roon compatibility and it does not appear in the list of Roon compatible devices (https://roon.app/en/partners). The manual is an auto-translate from the Chinese version. I now stream to a Raspberry Pi running RoPieee, which is then connected via USB to the Gustard, this combo works very well. But the Gustard as a solo streaming solution ? Absolute crap.

Perfect sound & DSD direct via UPnP works!
Continuing from my previous appraisal below: please do not do anything wrong as directed by some extremist forums: just downgrade to Gustarender 1.41 (when you have received 1.43) - BalenaEtcher or USBImager would do. Install USB drivers fist (for C port above ETH). Suddenly TIDAL HiRes & MQA works without any outages and you can stream DSD from your own UPnP resources instantly! I am not a user of Roon, and I will never be - no reason for it. Thank you Audiophonics for the support!

Perfect sound but beware of DSD direct!
Sound for its price its unbeatable. But beware of DSD direct - no way to get DSD native in LAN mode - it is converted to hires PCM. Fmv 1.43. Awaiting DAC patch from Shenzenaudio.

I echanged A22 to A26 and this was good step
I have Gustard A22 for over 2 years, it goes to second system and A26 exchanged it in main system. I short - the same good, natural, full and balanced sound, with little improvement of low frequency, new model is more accurate, more detailed. And has improvements like input for external clock (I will add in future) and with LAN input! Only screen is smaller than in A22, but looks more stylish. Important - new model heat-up less than A22
