Loxjie offers with its D40 a powerful, versatile DAC, dressed in a sober and modern chassis. This one benefits from a double DAC ES9068AS chip, a complete connectivity, with Bluetooth wireless reception, and a neat general design, using many quality audio components.
Dual ES9068AS DAC
At the heart of the D40 is an extremely efficient conversion stage, using two ESS ES9068AS DAC chips. These 32bit converters support high sampling rates up to PCM 32bit 768kHz and DSD512, and allow the decoding and reading of MQA files. It is also the assurance of a particularly precise and rich sound reproduction, with a THD+N of -122dB.
MQA
LMQA (Master Quality Authenticated) is an award-winning British technology that restores the sound of the original recording. The MQA Master file is authenticated by the artists, producers or rights holders. These files are light enough to stream or download. The D40 includes an MQA decoder to play these files for the best possible audio quality.
Bluetooth 5.0
With its Qualcomm Bluetooth 5.0 receiver chip, the D40 enables remote music streaming directly from a smartphone or connected tablet. In addition, it supports the high-quality transmission codecs aptX, aptX-HD and LDAC.
PLL & Digital filters
The D40 incorporates a PLL and provides three filters. It is thus possible to adjust the filter according to the stability of the clock signal received at the input of the device, in order to improve the sound quality.
Different I2S modes
In order to adapt to the majority of devices with I2S connectivity, the D40 offers no less than 8 modes to adapt the HDMI pinout and therefore the type of I2S interface.
High quality components
The whole architecture and internal design of the D40 benefits from high quality components adapted to audio. In addition to the two ES9068AS DAC chips, we find a XMOS XU216 USB interface, two ultra-low distortion OPA1612 AOPs and a totally optimized power supply. This set, perfectly integrated, participates greatly in the quality of sound restitution of the D40.

Other than leaving some ESS IMD distortion on the table, the D40 performs superbly in DAC department.
