DAC AK4191 AK4499EX XMOS XU316 Bluetooth 5.0 32bit 768kHz DSD512 MQA
SMSL presents with its D400Pro a DAC as versatile as it is powerful, benefiting from rigorous design and top-quality components. It is based on two AKM digital/analog conversion chips: an AK4191 and an AK4499EX. As a result, it delivers transparent, precise sound reproduction. What's more, its complete connectivity means it can be integrated into the vast majority of audio systems, and its Bluetooth 5.0 wireless connectivity means you can control it remotely.
AKM AK4191 + AK4499EX DAC
With its architecture incorporating both an AK4191 and AK4499EX DAC chips, the SMSL D400Pro manages to deliver excellent performance, with notably low levels of distortion and noise. The result is sound quality of incredible precision and fidelity. What's more, these conversion chips are capable of decoding PCM streams up to 32bit 768kHz and native DSD up to DSD512.
XMOS XU-316 USB interface
The D400Pro's USB-B input features a 3rd-generation XMOS XU-316 interface. Capable of efficient decoding and in association with the device's DAC chips, this USB input allows you to enjoy high-resolution audio streams up to 32bit 768kHz and DSD512.
High-ended components
The D400Pro uses top-quality components to maximize performance. These include 5 dual high-end OPAs, a proprietary CK-03 clock circuit that drastically reduces jitter. The SPDIF circuit also uses a PLL to reduce jitter. As for the power supply stage, it incorporates several voltage regulators to deliver a clean, stable electrical signal to the audio circuits.
MQA & MQA-CD
The SMSL D400Pro incorporates an MQA (Master Quality Authenticated) decoder, enabling it to read this type of file, guaranteeing sound quality as close as possible to studio recording. It can also be connected to a CD player to read and decode the MQA-CD format.
Bluetooth 5.0
In addition to its comprehensive and versatile connectivity, the SMSL D400Pro features a Bluetooth 5.0 receiver, so you can stream music wirelessly from a smartphone, for example. What's more, the device supports the high-resolution codecs aptX, aptX HD and LDAC for high quality wireless sound.
