SMSL unveils, with the DO300EX, a powerful, high-quality DAC/headphone amplifier. It incorporates quality components such as the AK4499EX DAC chip coupled with an AK4191 digital filter interface, an XMOS XU316 USB interface, 5 OPA 1612A, a TPA6120A2 headphone amplifier chip and the latest-generation Qualcomm QCC5125 Bluetooth chip. Moreover, an MQA decoder is integrated into the DO300EX. This DAC is capable of decoding high-resolution audio streams up to PCM 32bit 768kHz, DSD512 and MQA-CD. Performance on the headphone amplifier side is also very good, and it's notable that the clock circuit is based on the DO300's, using the CK-03 architecture developed by the brand to achieve very low jitter. The DO300EX features a full range of connectors that can be adapted to numerous configurations and input sources. In addition, the exterior features a rather imposing screen and small aesthetic details, making this a pleasant-looking device.

A high-performance headphone amplifier

On the front of the DO300EX are two headphone outputs: a balanced 4.4mm jack and an unbalanced 6.35mm jack. The headphone amplifier circuit incorporates a TPA6120A2 chip.  The DO300EX can be adapted to a lot of different types of headphones, thanks to its wide range of connectors and high output power: 2x 2000mW / 16Ω, 2x 1000mW / 32Ω.
