XMOS USB Interface
The SMSL M100 MKII uses a XMOS XCore200 XU208+ controller for its USB interface. This one allows a high quality asynchronous transmission and file support up to 32bit 768kHz PCM, Native DSD up to DSD512 and DoP, especially thanks to the custom Thesycon driver used here. In addition, this XMOS chip supports OTG and can therefore receive digital streams from a compatible smartphone or tablet.
ESS ES9018Q2C DAC
The conversion stage of the SMSL M100 MKII, the true heart of this device, is based on a DAC ESS Sabre ES9018Q2C chip. This chip, widely recognized by audiophiles and music lovers, enables precise and crystal-clear sound reproduction.
Independent circuits
The internal design of the M100 MKII consists of two separate and superimposed circuits. This particular design effectively limits interference that could alter the audio signal and thus the sound reproduction.
