The M200 in SMSL is a compact DAC with volume control using a AKM AK4497EQ DAC chip. It is able to decode files with a sampling frequency up to 768kHz and natively supports DSD up to DSD512 through its USB interface XMOS.

Besides its high definition USB input, it includes a S/PDIF interface and a Qualcomm Bluetooth 5.0 interface with support for high definition audio protocols (UAT, LDAC, apt-X HD, SBC, AAC).

It has a balanced and a single-ended output stage in order to comply with the requirements of any complex or compact audio installation.

Balanced DAC AK4497EQ

Equipped with a DAC AKM AK4497EQ 32-bit integrated in a balanced circuit, SMSL M200 uses the famous Velvet Sound architecture. This allows the disclosure of the lowest sound details which are ordinarily lost in audible distortion. The device offers a great SNR of 125dB with a very low THD of 0.00015%.

Velvet Sound technology available in DAC AK4497EQ offers 6 different digital filters in order to meet your own listenning preferences as well as the specifications of your audio system as a whole. (Super Slow roll-off, Short Delay Slow Roll-Off, Slow Roll-Off, Low dispertion, Short Delay Sharp Sharp Roll-off and roll-off). 


Finally AKM AK4497EQ The chip is mainly a native DSD decoder, making the M200 an ideal choice for high-definition music enthusiasts.

The M200 is capable of operating in pure DAC mode with DSD signals to bypass completely the volume control feature and keep only the strictly audio information without performing any modification to the signal.

USB, SPDIF & Bluetooth 5.0

The DAC has a SPDIF input interface, a USB interface, a Bluetooth interface and offers wide input connectivity. It can be connected to your digital sources via an optical or coaxial connector (S / PDIF to 192kHz-24bit), a USB-2 type B connector (USB XMOS to 768kHz-32bit & DSD512) and via bluetooth.

Its Qualcomm quad-core Bluetooth 5.0 receiver supports UAT / LDAC / APTX-hd / AAC / SBC standards and can accept wireless digital streams up to 192kHz-24bit.

OLED screen & Volume knob

On its front panel, a wide knob makes it easy to adjust the volume. An OLED screen displays the volume status to easily find your favorite configuration. It also shows all information necessary to verify that the filedecoding is optimal (detected sampling rate, type of active input...).
