SMSL's M300 SE is a powerful and compact DAC with an atypical form factor. Integrating high quality components, it is the perfect ally to offer to your HiFi audio system a digital/analog converter able to reproduce your audio files with a beautiful transparency but also an amazing sound richness. It also features a tempered glass panel giving it a high-end and durable look.
Dual CS43131 DAC, MQA decoder & high-end components
The M300 SE is equipped with 2 high-end CS43131 DAC chips. The latter supports high sampling rates, in PCM up to 32bit 768kHz and in DSD up to DSD256.
These high performance chips allow it to ensure a high SNR (131dB) and a very low distortion (THD+N -117dB) for a neutral and precise reproduction, with a beautiful sound image.
They are associated with many quality components such as a third generation USB XMOS interface, two Japanese NDK ultra low phase noise clocks to limit considerably the jitter on 44.1kHz / 48kHz and multiple frequencies, and finally a series of resistors and capacitors specially designed for audio use. In addition, an MQA decoder will allow you to enjoy the best audio files.
Design, Screen & Connections
All the components are integrated in a beautiful CNC machined aluminum housing, both robust and allowing to limit the interference that could degrade the audio signal. The front panel is dressed with a tempered glass plate of the most beautiful effect and a screen, allowing to display all the information related to the reading of your files (input, filter, sampling rate, read format...). The control is done simply thanks to the two buttons on the front panel or with the supplied infrared remote control, allowing you to turn on / off the device, select an input, change the display color, choose an audio filter, control the volume, etc.
In terms of connectors, we find, on the front panel, a Jack 6.35mm headphone output and a Jack 4.4mm headphone output. On the rear panel, there is a balanced XLR or unbalanced Jack 3.5mm output. In inputs the M300 SE presents a coaxial input, an optical Toslink, a USB-C plug as well as Bluetooth.
