SMSL unveils a state-of-the-art DAC with its SU-X model. The SU-X adopts two ESS Technology ES9039MSPRO DAC chips, but also an XMOS XU316 USB interface, enabling it to support high-resolution sampling rate PCM 32bit 768kHz and native DSD up to DSD512. It also incorporates an MQA decoder and accepts MQA-CD streams. A high-end Bluetooth 5.1 chip from Qualcomm enables it to decode high-resolution codecs for wireless transmission quality. In terms of aesthetics, the SMSL brand's signature sober, elegant design is evident, with a high-quality aluminum casing and a large IPS color display in tempered glass. The rear panel features full connectivity, with numerous digital inputs including an I2S input via HDMI connector, and two stereo RCA and XLR analog outputs.
SMSL SU-X: audiophile-quality components
The SMSL SU-X DAC adopts an eight-channel parallel circuit design, enabling it to achieve an ultra-low distortion level of 0.00005% and a high degree of stability. It also features 21 dual AOPs and a new CK-03 clock processing circuit for considerable jitter reduction. A second PLL eliminates jitter on SPDIF signal transmission. For its power supply, it features two linear power supply groups with several ultra-low-noise regulated power supplies independently supplying clean, stable current to the digital and analog stages of the SU-X DAC.

A stable, clean power supply
The SU-X's digital and analog stages are powered independently by two linear power supplies.

Numerous AOPs
The SU-X incorporates no less than 21 operational amplifiers.

Optimized clock circuit
The CK-03 jitter reduction clock circuit greatly improves SU-X stability.

Top-of-the-range connectors
SMSL SU-X connectors are high-end connectors with gold-plated contacts for optimum conductivity and resistance to corrosion and oxidation.
SMSL SU-X: high-end appearance
On the front of the SU-X DAC, a large IPS color display in tempered glass shows information on the current playback track. A large, robust and durable potentiometer is located to the right of the display.
