Super DAC, looks identical, but they don't do the same thing :) It sounds very good, it's worth it! This company has made me a fan forever. Bravo to the engineers! With love from Romania!

The D90 III Discrete balanced DAC from Topping is the parallel to the D90III using a 100% discrete digital/analogue conversion module. Here, conversion is performed by a PSRM module per channel, enabling conversion up to PCM 32bit 768kHz and DSD 512. This DAC also incorporates a Qualcomm QCC5125 Bluetooth 5.1 chip and a 12V trigger input and output on the rear panel. The high-end components found in the previous version, such as the Altera Max CPLD, are also included.
The D90 III Discrete uses a 16 phases PSRM module per channel for its digital-to-analogue conversion. The PSRM modules are 1-bit discrete DACs that use an ultra-fast switching logic network. The components selected by Topping were chosen for their ability to minimise the disturbance that could be caused by the power supply. Because of the technology used, the accuracy of the conversion is highly dependent on the quality of the power supply. So, in order to obtain the best possible results, the brand has also developed a resistor power supply system that produces no noise. The D90 III Discrete DAC is capable of converting PCM up to 32bit 768kHz and DSD up to DSD512 with a dynamic range of 130dB, a signal-to-noise ratio of 131dB and a harmonic distortion rate of 0.00006%.
To ensure optimum performance, the D90 III Discrete's clock signal is processed by an Altera Max II CPLD, achieving an exceptionally low jitter of -157dB.
To support the PSRM DAC in the best possible way, Topping has developed a completely new I/V conversion circuit. This proprietary circuit is made up of low-noise operational amplifiers and carefully selected discrete components. The result is a PSRM output voltage free of impurities and with a wide dynamic range.
To give you total control over the tonality of the sound reproduction, Topping has developed a brand new 10-bands PEQ that allows you to set the frequency response, gain and bandwidth using the Topping Tune Windows application. The software supports the import of target curves and original curves, as well as curve compensation using target curves. You can also save several profiles and switch between them at will.
When it came to choosing its Bluetooth chip, Topping decided to opt for one of Qualcomm's flagship chips: the Bluetooth 5.1 QCC5125 receiver chip, which enables the D90 III Discrete to support high-resolution codecs: aptX, aptX HD, aptX Adaptive and LDAC. This means you can enjoy a wireless connection that supports streams up to PCM 24bit 96kHz, a higher resolution than the CD quality standard.
The Topping D90 III Discrete supports various I2S transmission protocols: I2S PHASE STD, I2S PHASE REV, I2S DSDR DATA, I2S DSDR LRCLK, DSD FLAG 14 and DSD FLAG 15. It is therefore compatible with most digital interfaces on the market.
