DAC ES9068AS XMOS XU216 Symétrique MQA 32bit 768kHz DSD512 Black
Topping offers with its E50 a compact and very powerful DAC, using proven audio components widely recognized by audiophiles. This one is indeed based on an ESS ES9068AS digital/analog conversion chip as well as an XMOS XU216 USB interface, allowing it to read high resolution files but also to decode MQA files. It also benefits from a balanced output on TRS connectors.
The E50's digital-to-analog conversion stage uses the latest ESS ES9068AS DAC chip to deliver a transparent and richly detailed sound. The device ensures excellent performance with a very low distortion of 0.00009% or a dynamic range of 126dB.
The USB interface of the Topping E50 uses a second generation XMOS XU216 16-core chip with custom Thesycon driver. Associated with the ES9068AS DAC, this combination allows a perfect sound neutrality but also the support of high resolution files, up to PCM 32bit 768kHz, DSD512 and MQA. The USB input also uses a CPLD to process the clock signal and thus considerably reduce the jitter level.
Topping's DAC benefits from a complete connectivity to adapt to all types of audio systems. We can find USB-B, Optical Toslink and Coaxial as inputs. On the output side, the E50 offers both single-ended RCA and a double 6.35mm TRS jack for balanced output.
The TRS output does not support an adapter to convert the signal to single-ended and cannot be connected directly to headphones.
The Topping E50 is powered by 5VDC, either via its DC jack connector or directly on its USB-B input. It also benefits from an automatic on/off function. Thus, if the E50 receives a signal, it turns on automatically. In the same way, if it does not receive any signal on the selected input during 1 minute, then the E50 turns off.
The E50 has a preamplifier function. It is thus possible to control the volume level thanks to the remote control supplied. Ideal for association with a power amplifier or active speakers.
