TRASAM's DAC DS5 is based on a SABRE ES9028PRO chip with a USB XMOS interface and a Bluetooth chip CSR-8675 Apt-X HD, which allows it to benefit from an excellent connectivity while supporting high sample rates.

Equipped with a well-builtoutput stage, it proposes a single-ended output, a balanced output and a front headphone outputs . Each output is subjected to a volume control operated by a rotative knob located on the front of the device.

A discrete and readable screen shows in real-time the active source and the sampling rate of the stream being decoded. It allows to verify that the digital / analog conversion of your high-resolution files runs as expected.

DAC ES9028PRO ESS SABRE

Equipped with a DAC ES9028 PRO, the DS5 offers the famous Hyperstream architecture, with its digital filter operating in frequency and time correction. This technology offers very high detail while limiting distortion and jitter (time digital attenuator).

Real component of choice for high fidelity applications, the chip 9028PRO has a decoding capability on 8 channels but is configured to work on two tracks (stereo) to expand and clarify  the soundstage as much as possible. This chip is found in a plethora of very advanced high-fidelity devices and can support sample rates up to 384kHz.

Extensive connectivity

Ideal to connect multiple sources devices on the same amplification system, the DS5 can receive digital audio stream via its USB ports (PC-USB & USB-OTG), S-PDIF (Optical & Coaxial) and Bluetooth apt-X HD.

Bluetooth and USB-OTG provide easy-to-set connections with a wide range of mobile devices. USB-PC port (USB-B female) and S-PDIF are used to connect to both a computer / streamer dedicated DVD / Blu-Ray player / TV and a game console simultaneously. A button on the front panel allow easy and quick switch from one source to another.

Each entry is controlled by an electrical relay to avoid thumps and parasitic noise during source change. This is very useful to protect the speakers / amplifiers and it  avoids the user having to shut down each source before sending it to the DAC.
