The DAC-19 returns to the R2R SINGULARITY 19 version (in NOS mode set by default), with a DSP update and an additional TCXO clock dedicated to asynchronous transfer management. The great novelty comes from its 4 DAC DA-M1 R2R working together to offer you performances still above expectations.

Thisthe WARMER version has been designed to have a more "warm" sound, just like the DAC-19 of the same brand. To achieve this result, only the analog filters have been parameterized differently than the NEUTRAL version of the same model. Be careful, however, this WARMER version will not be able to return to a neutral sound, whereas the NEUTRAL version can obtain a warmer sound with a change of power cable and / or modulation cable.

Mr. Kingwa,the technical engineer in charge of all Audio-GD devices, has made this Singularity 19 fully programmable at the software level. That is, it can improve the audio performance of the devicewithout touching the hardware, but only by modifying the DSP software part.

It is capable of handling record sampling rates: up to 32Bit / 384kHz. Even if Audio-GD had already given it its nobility since 2005, the best technicians of the firm offer it here in its most accomplished form with outstanding performances.

Fashion without Oversampling "NOS"

The novelty concerns the mode without Oversampling "NOS". The DSP 1 includes two distinct operating modes. This new DSP makes it possible to get rid of the noise problems related to the NOS mode while keeping its advantages in terms of musical pleasure thanks to a non-destructive -6dB filter.

Mode 1 favors the speed of data transfer, the second allows processing on DSP FIFO with algorithm. This DAC Neutral is delivered and set by default in NOS mode.

A particularly efficient connection

The built-in R2R DA-M1 DACs allow you to manage sources up to 32 Bit / 384kHz via its USB port, and up to 24Bit / 192kHz via the SPDIF. The SINGULARITY 19 has 4 inputs: Coaxial SPDIF, Optical Toslink, HDMI I2S, and USB AMANERO, as well as 2 analog outputs: RCA and ACSS.

Its SPDIF interface is extremely efficient in terms of data processingaudio quality.

100MhZ - TCXO

Audio-GD devices are usually equippedof the standard 80MHz clock, except this Audio-GD SINGULARITY 19 includes 2 clocks TCXO Ultra Low Jitter 100MHz. These TCXO (Crystal Oscillator) clocks are more accurate and significantly lower the jitter.

4x DAC R2R DA-M1

The DAC Audio-GD DA-M1 R2R module is based on the same technology as a "Ladder DAC R2R" Burr Brown PCM1704 TI analog digital conversion chip. The R2R technology is recognized for its qualities subjectively related to a musical sense of dynamics and timbres of instruments closer to reality, more natural. Each SMD resistor (24bit x 2 = 48bit) handles a digital bit (0 or 1) to translate it into analog electrical information.

Correctif
Petit correctif suite à mon précédent avis. Ce Dac est bien paramétré par défaut en mode NOS. Je n'avais pas utilisé la bonne notice (celle pour Dac 19 et au lieu de celle pour Dac 19 R2R). Sur ce modèle, le passage en mode NOS s'effectue via le bouton Setting en façade. Le Dac est donc forcément "configuré" en mode NOS.
Après plusieurs essais, j'ai finalement opté pour le réglage en NOS mode 1 - càd bouton setting enfoncé et jumpers sur ATT0 et ATT1. Ce réglage donne, sur mon système (casque et enceinte), une superbe aération du message et une excellente dynamique.
Je tiens à dire que je n'ai pas essayé tous les réglages et que, bien sûr, suivant les systèmes et les goûts, d'autres réglages peuvent être plus pertinent.
Pour Audiophonics: Un lien depuis votre page produit vers la bonne notice serait bienvenue. En effet le site Audio-gd n'est pas un modèle de clarté.

Excellent
A vrai dire, j'ai été un peu déçu dans un premier temps.
Venant d'un dac Audiophonics ES9018, j'ai trouvé que cet Audio-gd était mieux, mais ne l'enterrait pas. La différence de prix était justifiée c'est tout. La tonalité est différente. L'audio-gd est moins porté sur l'aigu - ce qui est appréciable. Il est aussi plus transparent.
J'ai attendu que le rodage ce fasse un peu. Mais pas vraiment d'amélioration.
J'ai donc décidé d'ouvrir le dac pour essayer d'autres réglages (pour les inquiets, Audio-gd précise sur son site que la garantie est maintenue même si le dac a été ouvert). Et là surprise. Je constate qu'aucun jumper n'est mis. Pourtant, sauf erreur de ma part, pour que le dac soit configuré en mode NOS, les jumpers doivent être placés en IPS0 et IPS1. Et à l'écoute, ça change tout. Après avoir placés ces jumpers (attention, ne pas en mettre en PLLEN), le son change totalement. La dynamique se débride améliorant énormément la lisibilité du message apportant de la vie à l'enregistrement. Un vrai plaisir d'écoute. Du coup, je ne sais pas si je suis en mode NOS ou pas. Mais ça met égal tellement le son est bon.
Je comprend à présent les éloges qu'on peut lire sur internet sur les dacs Audio-gd. C'est justifié.
Pour ce qui est de la version Warner, je n'est pas écouté le Neutral, donc je ne peut pas comparer. Toutefois, n'allez pas croire que cette version est sirupeuse. Elle en est loin. Le son ne me semble pas particulièrement adouci.
