Monolith Liquid Platinum DAC

The Monolith Liquid Platinum DAC is a compact DAC offering an exceptional sound reproduction quality with excellent measured performances. It is designed to be perfectly matched with the Liquid Platinum and THX-AAA headphone amplifiers of the brand, but also with any other HiFi headphone amplifier. The Liquid Platinum DAC combines an AKM AK4499EQ DAC, a USB XMOS XU208 interface and ultra low phase noise clocks in an optimized architecture.
Design par Alex Cavalli
For over 18 years now, Alex Cavalli has been designing and developing audio circuits, with a special focus on headphone amplifiers. Formed in 2011 with the desire to create exceptional products, Cavalli is behind some of the most successful headphone amplifiers of the past decade, including the Liquid Fire, Liquid Gold, Liquid Crimson and Liquid Glass. These amplifiers are known for their extremely accurate sound reproduction, unique designs and their ability to reproduce incredible musicality.
AKM AK4499 DAC
The digital/analog conversion stage of the Monolith Liquid Platinum DAC is based on a 32bit AKM AK4499EQ DAC chip. This chip offers exceptional performance with very low noise and distortion levels, for a precise and detailed reproduction. Moreover, this chip integrates six types of 32bit digital filters allowing to adjust its sound signature.
A complete and versatile connectivity
The Liquid Platinum DAC from Monolith offers a complete set of connectors to adapt to all usage scenarios. There are Coaxial, Optical and USB-B inputs. For the outputs, the DAC proposes balanced stereo XLR and two unbalanced stereo RCA.
