The Musician Pegasus presents itself as a magnificent and particularly powerful DAC, taking advantage of a neat R2R architecture. Integrating the best current technologies, the device benefits from a low-noise power supply, a FIFO buffer, signal processing by FPGA and a FIR filter. It is thus capable of decoding very high sample rates, up to 32bit PCM 1536kHz and DSD1024 via its USB and I2S inputs. The USB interface is managed by a STM32F446 MCU with Thesycon driver. The whole unit is integrated in a massive Aluminium case.
A more than complete connection system
The Musician Pegasus provides you with most of the connections common to today's HiFi devices. We thus find at the input of USB-B, I2S via HDMI LVDS, AES/EBU, Toslink Optics and Coaxial. On the output side, the device offers unbalanced RCA and balanced XLR, the latter output being obviously recommended to take advantage of the full potential of the device.
It is not recommended to use the XLR and RCA outputs simultaneously, as these are shared.

I2S pinout configuration
To make it compatible with most devices, the Musician Pegasus offers several configurations of its I2S pinout. To modify this setting, follow the steps below:
- Select the I2S input.
- Press and hold the NOS button for 3 seconds until the I2S indicator light flashes.
- Press the NOS button again to change to I2S mode.
- Once the correct mode has been selected, the device confirms the setting and automatically exits the parameterization mode.
If the setting does not produce satisfactory sound (e.g. a hissing noise), this cannot be considered a device malfunction, but simply an incompatibility. The recommended solution is to use a customized HDMI cable, adapted to the pinout of your device and the Pegasus.
