Great DAC for a small price
I was looking for a small DAC for my surround installation. I was considering the Chord Qutest, but to my surprise this little DAC cleaned up the sound. Especially the voices were much more natural, the bass more thighter and also the instruments are renderend very clean.
PS I lost the DAC in the new TV box, since it’s only digital. I’am glad i lost it, because i already wanted to upgrade the Center speaker, because the voices were not clear enough, I have an NAD surround connected to upgraded Focals and Kef 5005. As stereo amplifier i have the Audionet WATT + DNC connected to the upgraded focals.
All by all i recommend this DAC absolutely and can’t wait to try other supposedly better DAC’s

Excellent device when using linear power supply
I bought this dac a year ago to connect a laptop to my hifi system. The sound was good but not natural enough for me. So last winter I decided to buy Audiophonic´s linear power supply. I had to wait until june for it to be available again. Now I am satisfied.

Small DAC with excellent performance
I am really glad with the sound quality of the SU-1. The sound is detailed, very well balanced, no frequency sticks out or is lacking. Rhythm and timbre are present and the music sounds very refined and believable.
It is well suited for acoustic instruments, voices, brass, symphonic music. Probably not the best choice for metal/hard rock - that require more etched out had thumping sound. Otherwise SU-1 is unexpectedly great performer for my taste.
It pays off to feed the DAC with quality 5V power. In my opinion optical sounds slightly better than USB. A review on the Internet mentioned that coax is even better, but I have not had the chance to test it yet.
The SU-1 definitely deserves your attention. Test it and chances are that you will like it.

A great dac for the money

Le SU-1 offre de manière générale une signature sonore transparente, naturelle et équilibrée des graves jusqu'aux aigus. Pratiquement pas de coloration sonore.
Je n'ai jamais entendu mes KLIPSCH sonner aussi bien !
