Balanced USB DAC ES9038Q2M XMOS XU208 32bit 384kHz DSD256 Silver
Topping proposes with its D10 Balanced a compact and above all extremely powerful symmetrical DAC. This one integrates high quality components to favor a limpid and precise restitution. It includes an ESS ES9038Q2M DAC and a XMOS XU208 USB interface, capable of supporting high resolution audio streams up to PCM 32bit 384kHz and DSD256.
Unlike its big brother the Topping D10s, the D10 Balanced has a balanced output on dual 6.35mm TRS connectors as well as two digital outputs, Toslink Optical and Coaxial. It is also possible to make the balanced connection on XLR connectors thanks to the supplied adapters. The input is done via the USB-B connector.
The D10 Balanced is not compatible with adapters that convert the signal to unbalanced.
The D10 Balanced does not allow the connection of headphones.
The D10 Balanced's digital to analog conversion stage is based on a high-performance 32bit ESS ES9038Q2M DAC chip. This one takes advantage of the HyperStream II and Time Domain Jitter Eliminator technologies of the brand in order to offer an excellent dynamic range and a low THD+N for a restitution of an incredible precision and richness.
Associated with this excellent DAC, a USB XMOS XU208 interface with Thesycon custom driver supports high resolution audio files up to PCM 32bit 384kHz and DSD256 and full ASIO compatibility.
Versatile, the D10 Balanced will adapt to your use. It can be used as a DAC with your computer, connected to active speakers to improve the sound quality, associated with an amplifier or headphone amplifier to improve an existing audio system, or as a USB interface to an external DAC.
In addition, it has convenient features such as automatic power on/off synchronized with a computer and an LED display showing the sample rate of the file being played.
The D10 Balanced is not compatible with Android and iOS devices.
When used as a USB interface, the D10 Balanced cannot output audio streams higher than PCM 24bit 192kHz and DSD DoP64.
The display of the D10 Balanced only shows the DSD sample rate in ASIO mode.
" It is clear Topping is laser focused on best possible performance at every price point. And at the same time appreciates the importance of providing balanced outputs in desktop products where possibility of ground loops is quite high. Professionals would do well buying the D10 Balanced as well given its 4 volt output and ability to drive longer cables. "
