With the M15S, FiiO unveils a top-of-the-range audiophile digital music player. An improvement on the M15, it features a new Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 processor, more powerful amplification and an ES9038Pro 8-channel DAC. Versatile, it can play files on micro SD, on a local network or online via music streaming services such as Spotify, Amazon music, Deezer, Apple music, Qobuz or Tidal, for example. It can decode up to PCM 32bit 768kHz, DSD512 and MQA. Its Bluetooth 5.0 QCC5124 chip also enables it to transmit and receive SBC, AAC, aptX, aptX HD, aptX Adaptive and LDAC formats. With its capabilities, 10.5 hours of battery life and 3 outputs (balanced and single-ended), the FiiO M15S is an extremely versatile, high-performance DAP.
ES9038Pro DAC chip
An excellent digital/analogue conversion chip, the ESS ES9038Pro DAC on board this M15S benefits from proprietary Hyperstream II technology. As well as delivering highly accurate sound reproduction, this technology supports high-resolution streams up to PCM 32bit 768kHz and DSD256. The M15S also incorporates an MQA decoder, so you can enjoy this high-quality audio format.
M15S architecture: a clean clock signal
The M15S incorporates a PLL (phase-locked loop) FGPA operating with NDK Japanese femtosecond crystal oscillators, enabling it to transmit a highly accurate, low-jitter clock signal to all its components.
Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 processor
The use of an 8-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 processor coupled with Android 10 will give you access to third-party applications so you can enjoy the best music streaming services thanks to the Google Playstore, all accessible via a 5.5" HD 720P touchscreen.
The best in wireless transmission
The FiiO M15S benefits from AirPlay and DLNA network transmission protocols. It is also equipped with a Bluetooth 5.0 QCC5124 chip for wireless reception and transmission from and to a smartphone or tablet. The following Bluetooth codecs are supported:
- Bluetooth 5.0 reception formats: SBC, AAC, aptX, aptX HD, LDAC et LHDC.
- Bluetooth 5.0 transmission formats: SBC, AAC, aptX, aptX HD, aptX LL, LDAC et aptX Adaptive.
M15S: effective connectivity
The FiiO DAP M15S has 2 balanced headphone outputs, one in Jack 2.5mm and the other in Jack 4.4mm, plus a single-ended output in Jack 3.5mm. With 1200mW of power and 5 available gain levels (Low/Medium/High + Over-ear: Super High/Ultra High), it is compatible with the majority of audiophile headphones and earphones on the market.
A high-performance battery
FiiO has incorporated a 6200mAh battery into its M15S, enabling you to enjoy a listening experience lasting up to 10.5 hours. The battery can be fully recharged in around 3.5 hours using the QC3.0+PD fast charging protocols. Moreover, the M15S power supply circuit is designed to reduce crosstalk and interference and feed the amplifier stage cleanly using low-noise LDO regulators. Another advantage is that it can be used in 'desktop' mode, meaning that instead of recharging the battery, the current will directly supply the M15S, thus preserving battery life.
