The iBasso DX120 is a high-end digital music player (DAP) that delivers high-flying audio performance thanks to its clever design. DAC AK4495, USB XMOS XU208, Quad Core CPU, dual PLL / TCXO clock and fast charging make this DX120 an ideal companion for your listening sessions at home or on the go.
AK4495 DAC
A large part of the development of the DX120 was to get the most out of the DAC AK4495 chip. The specifications of this chip display a THD+N at -105dB. In practice, it is quite difficult to achieve such a value. The engineers at iBasso have therefore worked on the design of a unique design, allowing to reach a THD+N of -111dB !
Balanced output
For its amplification section, the DX120 uses one AOP per channel, with a fully symmetrical output scheme. Thus, the output in 2.5mm symmetrical Jack format combined with the careful architecture of the DAP ensure low distortion and crosstalk.
TCXO + PLL Synchronization technology
To ensure an extremely low jitter, the DX120 integrates a combo of PLL and TCXO clocks. The phase noise reaches a value of -145dBc/Hz, the jitter is brought to <=35ps and the frequency stability is less than 1ppm for a sound reproduction of great transparency and precision.
A large power reserve
The internal design of this DAP allows it to be used with a wide range of headsets and IEMs, including demanding models. Indeed, it offers a power of 400mW for a load of 32 Ohm and an impressive restitution of low frequencies.
Carefully selected components
The iBasso DX120 features carefully selected components. Underneath its robust aluminium shell is a DAC AK4495 chip that supports high sampling rates, with PCM up to 32bit 384kHz and native DSD128. This chip is combined with a high-performance USB XMOS XU208 interface, a BQ25890 MaxCharge TI chip for device charge management and ultra-fast charging, and finally the PLL and TCXO clock combo for perfect signal synchronization.
Unbeatable speed of charging
The DAC therefore incorporates components that allow it to charge its battery extremely quickly. It supports both MTK-PE and QC2.0 technologies. It is thus possible to recharge the DX120 at 12V or 9V 1.5A, while remaining compatible with a more conventional 5V charge. These technologies allow a complete charge in only 2 hours, and then enjoy many hours of reading.
A beautiful touch screen for easy use
The DX120 is equipped with a beautiful 3.2" touch screen for a 480*800px resolution. As an IPS slab, it has high contrast, high brightness and above all wide viewing angles, allowing comfortable use, even in daylight and outdoors.
Equipped with the all-new Mango OS
The iBasso player carries the brand's latest operating system: Mango OS. It is still based on Linux but has been largely optimized and specially designed for portable audio systems. A GPU and Open GL technology have also been implemented in the device to relieve the CPU and ensure smooth navigation. In addition, the DMA (Direct Memory Access) process is used to quickly perform background tasks without cluttering the CPU unnecessarily. This gives the CPU more free computing power to decode audio files.
The iBasso DX120's Jack outputs are not compatible with headphones and headphones with a TRRS Jack connector (3 separations on the Jack, for microphone or built-in volume control). If you have headphones or headphones with TRRS jack, it is necessary to use an adapter (sold separately, available as an accessory).
