iBasso is back with a limited edition of its excellent DX300, the DX300 Max. Carved in a solid block of Aluminium, this ultimate version of the DAP integrates two AKM AK4499 DAC chips for its digital/analog conversion stage, no less than five batteries for its power supply or an amplifier based on Class A transistors ! An exceptional design for a portable player capable of an absolutely incredible sound reproduction.
FPGA
The DX300 Max hides in its heart an FPGA-Master specifically designed for this model. Its role is to recover the audio data sent by the SoC in order to maintain a clean and stable signal. Associated with two Accusilicon clocks (22.5792M and 24.576M), it allows to generate and perfectly synchronize the clock signals. In short, it ensures a drastic reduction of jitter to provide an extremely clean digital audio signal.
Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 CPU
The integrated 8-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 processor, etched in 14nm, offers incredible power to efficiently process audio signals while allowing smooth navigation within the device's interface. This SoC is paired with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage (ROM) (expandable via Micro SD card not included).
Five batteries
The power supply stage of this DX300 Max integrates no less than five independent batteries. Each one allows to supply a specific circuit of the DAP. This separation of the power supplies makes it possible to limit the possible interferences between the digital and analog circuits in order to attenuate the level of distortion to the maximum.
Dual AKM AK4499 DAC
In this Max version of the DX300, there are two excellent AKM AK4499 DAC chips for a total of 8 conversion channels. These combined channels allow the DAP to have a fully balanced conversion circuit while enhancing its sonic performance.
Balanced & single-ended outputs
The DX300 Max offers two balanced outputs in 2.5mm and 4.4mm jack format as well as a single-ended output in 3.5mm jack format. In addition, the DX300 also features a 3.5mm Coaxial Jack output supporting audio streams up to 384kHz PCM and DSD128 DoP, and can also be used as a USB DAC, to take advantage of the device's conversion capabilities.
Mango OS & Android 9.0
The iBasso DX300 Max is based for its interface on a fast and powerful Android 9.0 operating system, taking advantage of the hardware acceleration of the Snapdragon 660 GPU. In addition, the use of Android allows the installation of many applications. The reading system, independent, is based on Mango OS (5th generation), specifically developed for this use.
Bluetooth 5.0 & WiFi 5GHz 2x2 MIMO
The DX300 Max benefits from an extended wireless connectivity, integrating a WiFi receiver using a 2x2 MIMO antenna. Thus, with two channels in and out, the speed and capacity of transmission is greatly improved.
Bluetooth 5.0 is also in the mix, with an associated high-performance antenna for increased transmission distance.
