The SMSL P1 is a high-end headphone amplifier with symmetrical architecture. Its output circuitry based on discrete components allows it to achieve excellent performance with a distortion level of 0.00019%, a signal-to-noise ratio of 120dB or an output current 5 times higher than their previous headphone amplifiers.

High quality components

SMSL has taken care to select only high quality components in order to allow the P1 to develop excellent audio performance and a rich, dynamic and accurate sound reproduction.

The amplification circuit is thus based on 4 AOPs in a symmetrical architecture with feedback correction circuit. Digital volume control is handled by a PGA2311U.

The power supply includes a custom Norateluk low noise transformer offering an efficiency 1.3 times higher than a conventional transformer. 6 Siemens Epcos coupling capacitors, WIMA capacitors or low noise regulators allow filtering to deliver an electrical signal specific to the different circuits. In addition, the power supply circuit is physically separated from the other circuits to limit the impact of interference.

Connectivity

The SMSL P1 offers simple and efficient connectivity. The rear panel of the unit features 2 unbalanced RCA stereo inputs and 1 balanced XLR input. On the output side, the amplifier displays on the front panel a 4-pole balanced XLR output and an unbalanced 6.35mm jack output.

Aluminium housing & Remote control

All the circuits of the SMSL P1 are integrated in a magnificent black CNC machined and anodized Aluminium case. Sober, modern and robust, the amplifier will easily integrate into a HiFi system or on a desk. The P1 comes with a compact aluminium remote control for easy and remote control of the amplifier.
