E1DA offers an improved version of its high-end symmetrical ADC, the Cosmos ADCiso. The analogue/digital conversion stage is still based on an ESS ES9822Pro chip, but the USB interface has been modified by a CT7601PR chip that natively supports 768kHz. What's more, the USB power port and USB data processing port are now completely separate, to further boost performance.
The ADCiso uses only high-quality audio components to deliver exceptional performance and measurements. Input is either balanced stereo XLR or balanced 2.5mm jack. Power is supplied via a dedicated USB-C port. For output, the Cosmos is equipped with another USB-C port supporting a PCM stream of up to 32bit 768kHz. The intelligent design of the ADC enables it to achieve extremely low levels of noise and distortion.
E1DA also provides the Cosmos Tweak software for Windows, through which it is possible to control the levels of harmonic distortion, the interpolation filters and the integration parameters of the ADC.
The bottom side of the device also conceals a DIP switch attenuator with 8 sensitivity levels, from 1.7V to 10V. Each sensitivity value has a different input impedance.
On the side of the USB-C output, two LEDs allow to indicate, by their blinking, the sampling rate of the flow (48kHz = 1 flash/2s, 96kHz = 1 flash/s, 192kHz = 2 flash/s, 384kHz = 3 flash/s, 768kHz = 4 flash/s). The color of the LEDs indicates the operating mode of the device (stereo: green, mono: blue).
All Cosmos ADCs are calibrated by the manufacturer. When using the Cosmos Tweak software, it is strongly advised to make a copy of the calibrated product values before any modification.
