Denafrips Terminator II 12Th: An exceptional DAC
The Denafrips Terminator II digital/analog conversion module and its R2R ladder networks are perfectly isolated. The two boards are physically linked by the OCXO clock module. Physical isolation reduces background noise and improves the signal-to-noise ratio.
The Terminator II is equipped with two OCXO clocks operating at 45.1584MHz and 49.152MHz. Encapsulated in a metal housing located in the center of the DAC, these OCXOs are specially designed for high-end audio applications with ultra-low phase noise and very high precision. Both OCXOs are powered by the completely redesigned power supply circuit, providing constant current to the clocks. Adequate power reserves guarantee the linearity and stability of the clock signal.
Jitter is also reduced by reclocking the FIFO buffer. The adaptive FIFO buffer stores digital audio data. These are read directly using the ultra-low phase noise OCXO located directly in the DAC.
The Terminator II also features an OCXO clock output for perfect synchronization of multiple audio devices.
