Denafrips' very first USB digital-to-digital converter or digital interface (DDC), the Iris 12Th is the fruit of 3 years of research and development by the brand, taking advantage of its extensive know-how in DAC design and related technologies.
This interface lets you extend the digital connectivity of your audio system or computer, while enhancing sound quality. What's more, the Iris works perfectly with a wide range of DAC brands and models on the market. The data stream of the incoming USB digital signal is stored by the FIFO buffer and then reclocked using the integrated femtosecond clock. This procedure considerably minimizes jitter, guaranteeing a signal free of digital noise. What's more, the Iris 12th benefits from galvanic isolation, protecting the signal from electrical interference and maintaining signal integrity throughout the conversion process.
The power supply stage of the Iris 12Th is also optimized to provide all circuits with a clean, stable electrical signal. These include a large 60VA UP-OCC copper O-Core transformer and 8 precision LDO voltage regulators.
Key features:
A DDC, or digital-to-digital converter, transforms a digital audio signal from one format to another. Its primary purpose is to facilitate interconnections between different audio devices.
In addition to this conversion, Denafrips Iris 12th uses advanced processing techniques to improve the sound quality of the output signal.
The Denafrips Iris 12Th boasts comprehensive connectivity. While input is simply via a USB-B port, output includes I2S HDMI LVDS, I2S RJ45 LVCMOS, AES/EBU, Toslink optical and coaxial. The Iris 12Th also features BNC inputs for connecting an external clock.
