I2s / DSD receiver via HDMI
This compact module allows you to retrieve a balancedLVDS signal flowing through an HDMI cable. This signal is automatically converted to PCM / DSD / DoP digital data stream and may be operated in real time.
First conceived and designed for DIY, it works with a wide range of frequencies (up to 768kHz, DSD1024, DoP256).
The module gives the user the possibility to pick between several powering strategies and oscillator sync. It has Integration options that greatly help the makers getting the best audio restitution.
LVDS receiver module via HDMI is able to work with virtually any source sharing its pinout, it is however strongly recommended to use the LVDS transmitter via HDMI from the same manufacturer.
Indeed, when the transmitter and receiver modules are used together, the transmitter may directly power the receiver via the HDMI cable, which is a major plus for projects where the number of interconnections should be limited.
Base, the module has its own power supply unit to obtain a clean current, stable voltage and lower power-supply-related noise..
This unit is mounted on a removable portion of the PCB. This means that the user can remove it and use the power supply of his choosing instead.
It almost always is a HiFi grade regulated linear power supply in order to focus the sound transparency.
Because it has to work with many DAC / Clock configuration available on the market, the HDMIpI receiver module is equipped with two types of interconnection hardware. There are standard UFL connectors that will work with most of the generic modules.
There is also a more 'professionnal' connector XH2.54mm male pine (delivered unmounted: it will be necessary to weld to use this connector). This second option will be particularly useful for custom development and professional projects.
Finally, the module has an optional control output. The latter allows the reception of logic instructions sent from the transmitter. This feature will delight advanced users who will find a very powerful lever to send metadata or instructions simultaneously to the audio stream.
