Ian Canada BridgePi

USB interface adapter to GPIO for Amanero 384 / 768

Ian Canada BridgePi

This PCB in HAT format allows you to integrate a high definition USB interface (Amanero combo 384 type or equivalent) to your DIY projects using GPIO connector.

Very useful for adding a USB input supporting high sampling frequencies (up to 768khz / native DSD512) to your Raspberry Pi-based projects or your digital transports (Transport Pi from Ian Canada) in order to create high definition stand-alone, compact, modular and above all extremely efficient USB to I2S & SPDIF interfaces.

Easy to use, the BridgePi adapter is a hardware solution for easily interfacing USB audio sources to a GPIO transport that lack a high quality USB input. It does not require any particular software manipulation.

A DSD_EN & MUTE connector allows working with pure DSD DAC systems.

The USB interface is not provided.
For the best performance, be sure to install a USB interface with native DSD firmware.

Stand-alone use (basic)

Associated with a TransportPi from Ian Canada, the BridgePi (with its USB interface) becomes a compact and autonomous USB to I2S / SPDIF transport.

A UFL coaxial connector allows the MCLK clock signal to be injected directly into the TransportPi in order to operate the assembly in stand-alone mode.

This type of assembly can easily be connected to a ConditionerPi in order to benefit in addition from a filtered power supply.

Stand-alone use (Advanced)

Paired with a FifoPi from Ian Canada, the BridgePi adapter can accommodate a TransportPi and function as an ultra-low jitter digital transport.

In this configuration, it is also possible to mount a DAC module directly at the direct output of FifoPi in order to obtain a Native DSD / low jitter USB DAC which can be furthermore upgraded by Ian Canada upgrade modules (filtered power supply / ultracapacitor signal conditioner).

Use with Raspberry Pi

Mounted on a Raspberry Pi equipped with a DAC module from the same manufacturer, the BridgePi with its Amanero Combo384 type USB interface will become a network streamer with a DAC or a digital transport with Native DSD support on a USB connector.

In a configuration with Raspberry Pi, the project takes advantage of all the digital audio qualities of Stand Alone assemblies while benefiting from the network player capabilities and all the options offered by the many audio distributions available on Raspberry Pi.
