Dayton Audio offers with the MKBoom a complete kit to build yourself a portable Bluetooth stereo speaker. Powered by a 2x50W amplifier, the speaker delivers amazing power while remaining efficient enough to run on batteries. Easy to assemble, the MKBoom is a great introduction to speaker design.

Portable and convenient

Using the efficient and powerful Dayton Audio KAB-250v4 Class D amplifier makes the MKBoom extremely portable without sacrificing performance and functionality. With an efficient 2x50W power output, the amplifier delivers great sound quality with low power consumption. The amplifier module can be powered by 18650 Li-Ion batteries using the KAB-BE expansion board.

The Bluetooth 5.0 integrated in the amplifier module takes advantage of the support of the codec of high-quality transmission aptX HD to provide a beautiful sound reproduction. The speaker is also equipped with an auxiliary input on 3.5mm jack.

The design of the speaker body allows easy access to all its features and buttons, arranged on the Dayton Audio KAB-PMV3 control panel. Each function is silk-screened. The pre-drilled holes and the solderless connections to the amplifier make this control panel easy to install. The control panel features volume control, Bluetooth pairing button, power connector, auxiliary input and status lights.

The use of the KAB-BE extension module allows the MKBoom to be powered by batteries. With room for three 18650 batteries, it provides over 8 hours of listening time. The kit also includes three 18650 Li-Ion batteries for immediate use.

Quality loudspeakers

The MKBoom features drivers identical to those used in the Dayton Audio MK series. This four-driver design incorporates two 4" Dayton Audio TCP115-4 woofers and two 0.75" RD20F-4 silk dome tweeters. The woofers extend their low-frequency range down to 50Hz, while playing over most of the vocal range, for a smooth, clear sound. The dome tweeters offer wide high-frequency dispersion for clean vocals and enhanced dynamics.
