The Dayton Audio DAEX25TP-4 vibrator is a three-armed tripod with 3 arms from the main central vibrator, allowing it to transfer vibrations to a larger surface area for a wider response range and better bass reproduction.
A Neodymium magnet is used to create a large magnetic flux around the coil, improving sensitivity compared to vibrators of equivalent size. This also reduces the energy requirement and allows the DAEX25TP-4 to be used with very small amplifiers. The Ø25mm coil and ventilation openings allow for higher input power for more demanding applications.
To ensure maximum acoustic energy transfer between the transducer and the surface to which it is attached, a 3M VHB (Very High Bond) adhesive is pre-applied to the main vibrator and the 3 arms.
The frequency response and sensitivity of a vibrator are totally dependent on the mounting surface. Small and thin materials will tend to offer a higher sound level and a medium/high frequency reproduction. Wider and thicker materials (with several vibrators) will allow a slightly lower sound level but a much wider response.
