The Dayton Audio DAEX19QLP-4 exciter benefits from a four-arm design that extends from the body of the exciter, enabling it to transfer sound over a much larger surface for extended low-frequency response. In addition, the arms help support the magnet and coil, improving linearity when the exciter is mounted on a vertical surface.
A neodymium magnet is used to create maximum magnetic flux around the coil, increasing sensitivity compared with similar-sized exciters. This reduces power requirements and enables the use of very small audio amplifiers, without sacrificing total power. The 19mm coil increases input power, creating a rich, dynamic sound.
To ensure maximum acoustic energy transfer between the transducer and the surface to which it is attached, 3M VHB (Very High Bond) adhesive is pre-applied. Two spring-loaded terminals are integrated into the main body for rapid electrical connection.
Note: the frequency response and sensitivity of an exciter depend entirely on the surface to which it is attached. Thinner, smaller materials will tend to provide greater sound volume and create a midrange and treble response. Thicker, larger materials (with multiple exciters) will produce a slightly lower volume, but a fuller sound.
